Paul Pogba’s doping ban has officially ended and allowing him to make his return to competitive football for the first time since September 2023.
Pogba who received his ban while at Juventus when he resigned from Manchester United is officially free.
The former Manchester United Midfielder is now to return to football after his ban. The suspension to professional football was due to a positive test on doping banned substances.
Paul Pogba was banned in 2023 September for positive DHEA. This is a substance that promotes the growth of hormones including testosterone. This hormones helps to enhance sporting performance. This is the reason as to why WADA, anti-doping committee banned it from being used by players.
Pogba after found positive for the substance while at Juventus, he was suspended for Four years. His suspension was reduced later after a successful appeal to 18 months. This is after he was found to take the substance purposely.
The France legend is now a free agent looking for a place to call home again. This comes after he agreed to part ways with Juventus earlier of the season.
Which Club Will Pogba Play Again?
There has been a lot of speculations regarding to where Paul Pogba will land across Europe. A number of clubs has been linked to him.
He spent a lot of time in Miami, prompting rumors that link him with a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
Other speculations suggest that Pogba will return to Old Trafford but up to now, Manchester United has not shown a concrete interest for their former midfielder.
Some hint came from Marseille, a league 1 team in France. The sporting director of Marseille, Medhi Benatia revealed his thought for the move for Paul Pogba. This could have unit him with his former teammate, Mason Greenwood at the club.
Medhi said, “The problem is, if we brought in Pogba, who isn’t yet fit, does it make sense to shake up our squad for a player who won’t be able to participate in the end of the season?
“If something can be done, we will be delighted to welcome a player like Paul Pogba to give us a helping hand next year. If the opportunity presents itself.”
