The New IFAB Rule for Goalkeepers Holding a Ball for More than 8 Seconds.

Big blow to goalkeepers as IFAB will introduce new law changes. Goalkeepers who holds a ball for more than 8 seconds, will results a corner kick for the opponents. However, for them to bring in so quickly of the results of the trial, must have been overwhelmingly positive.
Goalkeepers will have to be so careful for time wasting which is rampant in todays’ football all over the world.
Goalkeepers who always do time wasting by holding the ball for more than 8 seconds have to be more vigilant.
As a result goalkeepers will concede a corner under a new rule approved by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) on Saturday.
What will happen when goalkeeper holds a ball?

When a goalkeeper holds a ball during the match, Referees will count down the last five seconds with a raised hand. Failure to release the ball within the time limit, it will result in a corner kick or throw-in for the opposing team.
The corner kick as to which side will be taken, it will depend on the position or location of the goalkeeper.
The purpose of this rule is to prevent time-wasting. It aims to improve the pace of the game.
This approved game changing rule for goalkeepers will be effective from next season.
